Add an E-mail Tagline

Many loan originators include a tagline/phrase at the end of their e-mails, as part of their overall positioning. Some use it to seek referrals, others to emphasize a specialty area. For example, David Kuiper, First Place Bank, Holland, Mich., wanted to remind customers that he values their referrals and includes the following below his photo/contact information: “My practice is 100% dependent on referrals. If you know of anyone who may benefit from my services, please pass my name and number along. Thanks in advance for thinking of me!” Kuiper believes these notices are valuable as ongoing reminders. “I don’t think our clients realize that we depend on referrals as the lifeblood our business,” he said. “They think we just sit at our desks and wait for the phone to ring or for people to walk in off the street. It is our job to help them understand that we both need and appreciate referrals. If we don’t ask for the referral, we aren’t likely to get them.”
