Mortgage Credit Availability Increased

Mortgage credit availability increased in December according to the Mortgage Credit Availability Index (MCAI), a report from the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA)that analyzes data from the All Regs Market Clarity product. The MCAI increased one percent to 115.7 last month. A decline in the MCAI indicates that lending standards are tightening, while increases indicate a loosening of credit. The index was bench marked to 100 in March 2012.
